Solving the cube?
It's simple now!
From the Author
“I am 50 years old. I have never been a speedcuber, nor have I ever aspired to become one. Moreover, there was a period in my life when I did not touch a Rubik’s Cube at all.
But when I returned to it years later, I unexpectedly discovered something: by understanding how the cube works, I could confidently solve it in about one and a half minutes.
It is this understanding and knowledge that I decided to share in my book.”

Yevgen Ponomarov was born on May 7, 1975, in a small village in what was then Soviet Ukraine. He trained as an electromechanic specializing in railway radio communication systems. Today, he lives in Prague with his wife.
Yevgen's fascination with the Rubik's Cube began at the age of thirteen. Until then, his interests had ranged from model building and radio electronics to astronomy and many other hobbies. Everything changed the moment he discovered the cube, and all his other interests gradually faded into the background. Unable to solve it using conventional methods, he began searching for a different approach. Those early experiments eventually evolved into what would later become known as the Simplest Method. Even then, he solved the cube intuitively—and always successfully.
As the years passed, the Rubik's Cube also took a back seat while family life, work, and raising children became his priorities. Even so, the cube never left its place on his bookshelf. Many years later, after his children had grown up, he rediscovered his passion. The method presented in this book is the result of years of observation, a constant search for simplicity, and a desire to make the Rubik's Cube accessible to everyone—even to those who have never picked one up before.
Originally written in Russian, this book has since been translated into English, Spanish, Czech, and Ukrainian so that readers around the world can experience the satisfaction and joy of solving the Rubik's Cube.
Yevgen's goal is to inspire readers to make new discoveries, experience the satisfaction of overcoming challenges, and discover that even the most complicated problems can often have remarkably simple solutions. He values honesty, simplicity, and sincerity in every aspect of life.
